Cleaning gutters can be a hassle but well worth it. ABC Roofing has done many repairs that could have been prevented with a little home maintenance.
Here are some examples of what damages may occur as a result of clogged gutters:
1. Fascia board holds the gutters in place. Often times, these are made of wood. Clogged gutters leave the water with nowhere to go but in. Over time, this can cause the fascia boards to rot and deteriorate.
2. Gutter systems channel water off the roof and away from the home's foundation. Clogged gutters can cause water to flood over the sides and puddle around the foundation. Over time, the water can cause cracks to form in the foundation and may even result in collapse. Even without collapse, the water can cause mold growth.
3. Roof leak? Maybe not. If your gutters have a blockage this can cause water to enter your home, potentially causing costly drywall damage and mold.
4. Spend a lot of time and money on those flower beds?
