Which Siding Is Best For Your Home?

When it comes to siding, there are a variety of options. This can sometimes make it difficult to decide which siding is best for your home. Innovations in the industry have helped to make siding both durable and beautiful.

Some of the options available are listed below to assist you in finding the perfect siding for your home:

Vinyl Siding: Vinyl siding is one of the most reasonable options, cost wise. There are an array of colors, styles and variations. No matter the climate; vinyl siding performs very well. Easy to care for, vinyl siding only requires a good cleaning once a year with as little as soap and water.

One downfall, to some, are the seams that tend to show at corners and doors. This is normal but is all a matter of personal preference.

Composite Siding: Composite siding can be more costly than vinyl siding but also comes in a variety of styles and colors but may have to be paitned depending on the manufacturer. It has deep textures and home owners can rest assured, you will not have an issue with termites, rotting or cracking.

Some downfalls are, of course, the price and this siding requires special cutting and tools when installed.

Wood Siding: A popular choice 30-50 years ago, wood siding still brags natrual beauty. No longer a popular choice, wood siding comes with a lot of upkeep and has low effectiveness for insulation.

Fiber Cement: By far the most appealing of the siding family, fiber cement siding offers tramendous beauty and is built to with-stand almost any climate. With a variety of textures, colors and accessories fiber cement is adored by those who choose this product for their home.

The only downfall with fiber cement siding is the price tag. More expensive than most, fiber cement is still a wonderful option for your home.

As with any home improvement, no matter which siding you choose, it will add resale value and curb appeal to any home. Each siding comes with it's own manufacturer warranty so be sure and check with your siding contractor to ensure you are educated about what the manufacturer offers.
